First let me tell you that, as it is the translation of a French blog, I use the metric system for my measurements and all the temperatures are given in Celsius !

New category: I tasted it for you. The idea is to pick up random products that are unknow to me, to taste them, cook them, describe them and give my opinion on them.

Honey and pecan cake

Try this association of flavours! Delicious! Moreover, it is very easy to prepare. Choose a strong honey, to give the cake a stronger taste. You can also replace the honey with maple syrup.

150 g pecan nuts (or hazelnuts or almonds)
150 g butter
3 eggs
100 g brown sugar
100 g flour
1/2 sachet dried yeast
50 g honey

Pre-heat the oven at 180°C.
Butter a rectangular mould.
Chop the nuts. Melt the butter. Beat the egg whites until stiff.
Bring together the egg yolks and the sugar, and then the butter, the dried yeast, the honey and the nuts. Add the egg whites. Stir well. Pour in the mould.
Bake for 45 min.
