First let me tell you that, as it is the translation of a French blog, I use the metric system for my measurements and all the temperatures are given in Celsius !

New category: I tasted it for you. The idea is to pick up random products that are unknow to me, to taste them, cook them, describe them and give my opinion on them.

Chicken falafel with bulgur, tomato, cucumber and a yoghurt sauce

Here is a dish to eat with the fingers; I believe the children will like it. It’s good when a group is dining together, especially when vegetarians and non-vegetarian must eat together: everybody can eat what he wants!


Ingredients (for 4 people)
400 g chicken minced meat
50 g bulgur
4 large tortillas (homemade recipe here)
250 g chickpeas
3 spring onions
3 soup spoons mint
1 shallot
2 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon coriander in powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 yoghurts
1 sweet gherkin or a cucumber
2 tomatoes
3 soup spoon parsley
2 soup spoons lemon juice
Aluminium foil

Preparation
Cut the tomatoes and the cucumber in dices, chop the onion. Cook the bulgur and then drain it. Cut the tortillas in 3, cut some rectangles in the aluminium foil (to hold the tortilla).
Drain the chickpeas. Bring them together with the tomatoes, the cucumber, the bulgur, the onion, 1 soup spoon lemon juice, 1 soup spoon olive oil and parsley.
Chop the garlic and the shallot and brown them in some oil, add to the minced meat, add salt, pepper and the spices. Make small balls out of this mixture and fry them.
Prepare a yoghurt sauce: pour the yoghurt in a bowl, add a soup spoon of lemon juice, salt and pepper, and chive if you want.


Put everything on the table and let everybody fill his tortilla with the ingredients.
