Welcome in my blog !
First let me tell you that, as it is the translation of a French blog, I use the metric system for my measurements and all the temperatures are given in Celsius !

New category: I tasted it for you. The idea is to pick up random products that are unknow to me, to taste them, cook them, describe them and give my opinion on them.

Enjoy !

Gouère (traditional French puree with fromage blanc)

It is a traditional recipe that my father taught me and which also comes from the Bourbonnais region.

Ingredients (for 6 people)
2-3 potatoes per person
2 eggs
700g fromage blanc
10 dried prunes without the stones
Salt, pepper and nutmeg (powder)

Drain the fromage blanc. Make a puree with the potatoes: peel them, boil them and mash them with a fork. Add butter the same way, then the fromage blanc little by little (the quantity depends on the taste you want, so you don’t have to put everything). Then add the eggs, salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Put in a gratin dish, put dried prunes in it. Put some bites of butter on the top.
Bake 35 min at 180°.

It is traditionally served with cooked pork meat, like cooked ham. It is delicious and great for a cold evening or a rainy day.

Bon appétit
